HRDA`s targets
HRDA`s targets
The targets of the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA) for 2020 are defined by its mission and the strategic objectives of upgrading the human resources, improving the productivity and enhancing the competitiveness of Cypriot enterprises as well as strengthening the quality and effectiveness of the human resource training and development system. The 2020 targets, which result in activities and actions with specific numerical targets and expenditures, are as follows:
- Integration of the unemployed and inactive into employment.
- Lifelong learning of the employed.
- Quality assurance of the training and development system.
- Promotion of research and development.
- Effective governance.
In order to achieve the target of integration of the unemployed and inactive population into employment, priority is given to training initiatives that actively promote employment and aim at further reducing unemployment.
In terms of the lifelong learning for employees, emphasis is placed on the continuous upgrading and enrichment of knowledge and skills of the employed, particularly in sectors that demonstrate increased growth prospects.
The target of ensuring the quality of the human resource training and development system prioritises the effective implementation of the System of Vocational Qualifications (SVQ) and the System for the Assessment and Certification of Training Providers.
The promotion of research and development is achieved through the provision of forecasts of labour demand and supply in the Cyprus economy, the identification of employment and training needs, monitoring labour market trends and evaluating the impact of HRDA`s activities on the economy of Cyprus.
In the area of effective governance, the focus is on enhancing the effectiveness of the HRDA by implementing and making effective use of the HRDA's Integrated Information System (IIS), as well as optimally managing and using the available financial and human resources.
