Purpose

To provide training programmes to employees in the private, public and wider public sectors, self-employed persons and unemployed persons in green skills that are aligned with the continuously evolving needs of the labour market.

Key Provisions

• The Project aims to facilitate the acquisition of new and the upgrading of existing knowledge and skills of employees working in occupations or sectors of the green economy, as well as unemployed persons who wish to work in occupations or sectors of the green economy, through their participation in training programmes implemented by Vocational Training Centres (VTCs).
• Eligible participants in the Project are natural persons, employees in the private, public and wider public sectors, self-employed persons and unemployed persons who consider that their participation in a training programme meets their individual training needs.
• The VTCs implementing the training programmes are selected through competitive procedures for the conclusion of public contracts.
• Applications from interested persons wishing to participate in the training programmes are submitted through the HRDA’s digital portal, “Ermis”, or through the HRDA website by expressing their interest in participating in the training programmes under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
• Persons interested in participating in the training programmes must register as natural persons in the Ermis system.

Financial Coverage

All costs of the training programmes are covered, and participants attend the programmes free of charge. In addition, allowances are provided to unemployed trainees for their participation in designated training programmes in which only unemployed persons participate.

Cooperation

For the information of VTCs and trainees, the HRDA issues a Policy and Procedures Guide, which provides a detailed description of the policy, procedures, and the criteria/conditions for approval at each stage of the Project’s implementation.
